Mykonos "Suburbs"
In this piece, I explore the intersection of Mediterranean architecture and voxel-based worldbuilding through a compact, self-contained diorama. The composition is built around a whitewashed, multi-level villa with red trim accents that guide the eye across staircases, rooflines, and door frames. The structure is intentionally open and tiered, allowing the viewer to read multiple layers of activity at once—from the rooftop terrace to the shaded café below.
At street level, I focused on storytelling through subtle details: café tables beneath a red pergola, a parked scooter, scattered pedestrians, and flowering trees that soften the cubic rigidity of the build. Each micro-figure serves as a scale reference and a narrative cue, suggesting a lived-in, social environment rather than a static model.
The color palette is deliberately restrained—white, red, and stone gray dominate—while purple bougainvillea and warm interior lighting introduce contrast and atmosphere.
My goal was to translate the fluid warmth of Mediterranean life into a structured voxel system—preserving cultural character while embracing digital minimalism. The result is both a tribute to the Greek island and an exploration of how modular constraints can enhance visual storytelling.
