This project focuses on the development of a bold and functional brand identity for Colt Power Tools, a conceptual company aimed at professionals and DIY builders. The goal was to create a visual system that communicates strength, precision, and reliability while maintaining a modern and approachable design language.
The identity is built around a strong industrial aesthetic. A bright yellow color palette was chosen as the primary brand color to evoke visibility, caution, and construction environments, while deep navy tones balance the palette with a sense of durability and professionalism. This high-contrast combination ensures that the brand stands out clearly across digital and physical applications.
The COLT logo integrates visual references to woodworking and construction. A wood texture within the letterforms connects directly to the materials often used with power tools, while subtle saw blade graphics and diagonal cut lines symbolize precision and craftsmanship. These elements help reinforce the brand’s association with cutting tools and hands-on work.
Beyond the logo, the project includes a complete brand system applied across multiple platforms. Stationery materials—such as letterheads, envelopes, and business cards—use bold geometric layouts and safety-inspired stripe motifs to maintain consistency and visual energy. These graphic accents mimic industrial hazard markings, further reinforcing the brand’s connection to the worksite environment.
The digital component includes a responsive website concept designed to prioritize usability and product accessibility. The homepage features a large product showcase with clear navigation categories such as power tools, accessories, and support resources. Key tools like a Project Planner, Drill Finder, and Useful Kits were incorporated to help users quickly identify the right equipment for their needs.
Overall, this project explores how branding, interface design, and visual storytelling can come together to create a cohesive identity system. The result is a brand that feels powerful, functional, and built for the workshop—reflecting the reliability and precision expected from professional-grade tools.
